Mission

The mission of the Hacienda Brisas del Mar is to provide a unique and memorable vacation experience in a relaxing rustic setting where the daily schedule is set by the sun, the sea, the stars and our guests’ desire for rest and recreation.

For those who are unfamiliar with the map of the Caribbean, the island is located between Cuba, to the west and Puerto Rico to the east. Santiago is about two hours by plane from Miami and three hours from New York, which are the two main cities our guests fly from.

Location

The Hacienda is located not far from the sleepy village of Punta Rusia (population 200) in the Northwest corner of the Dominican Republic. We are not far from Monte Christi and the Haitian border to the west and the Luperon peninsula with its famous Playa Grande to the East. La Isabella, Columbus’s first establishment in the New World is a short drive away.

The closest major city is Santiago, which is about an hour and a half drive from the property. This is where most guests will fly to as the other major city, Santo Domingo, is considerably further away and on the south shore.

The island of Hispaniola is comprised of two countries, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. While the language of Haiti is French, Dominicans speak Spanish. Whatever concerns one might have about the stability of Haiti and security of life in Haiti have no bearing on life in the D. R., which is a very stable democracy.
